Rules of the Game

Basic1

Please, at first, try out this simple game. Later, various strategies shall be described in detail.

1. Arranging the pieces

Look at the board.
Place the pieces freely in any of the spaces in the bottom 3 rows,
except for those squares occupied by the buildings.
Your headquarters, though, is required to be placed between the two buildings.

Each player uses 6 infantry, 4 tanks, 2 artillery and 1 headquarters.

Also, while setting up your pieces, use the screen to hide your positioning from the opponent.

2. Dice

There are two kinds of dice.
The two white dice are used for moving the pieces.
The green and red dice are used when attacking the other player's piece. Decide the purpose of ypur move---to move or attack ---and then throw the appropriate dice.

<Number on dice>

white dice --- 5,6,7,5,6,7

white dice --- 6,7,8,6,7,8

red dice --- 1,2,2,2,3,3

green dice --- 1,2,2,3,3,3

3. Moving the pieces

Roll the two white dice. Pieces can be moved horizontally or vertically.
You may move any number of pieces in one round, but each piece can be moved a maximum of 3 squares

If you roll 6 and 5 on each dice, you can move total of 11 spaces.

4. Attacking your opponent's pieces

Roll the green and red dice at once.
(In such a round the white dice cannot be rolled. You have to make the decision in each round which dice to roll.)

The green dice indicates movement.
(The red dice is not used to move, as the red dice shows the range of your shell fire.)

* You can attack only one piece at a turn.

Example 1

To move your piece, roll the green dice.

To throw a shell, roll the red dice.

Example 2

Suppose, you roll 3 on green dice and 1 on red dice in this situation.

You can move your piece three spaces.

However, firing range (1 on red dice) is not enough to reach opponent's piece.

Example 3

Suppose, you roll 1 on green dice and 3 on red dice in this situation.

You can move your piece one space by 1 on green dice.

Firing range (3 on red dice) is enough to hit opponent's piece.

Example 4

Suppose, you roll 3 on green dice and 3 on red dice in this situation.

You move your piece one space, and hit opponent's tank three spaces ahead by 3 on red dice.

You still can move any other of your piece two more spaces.

5. Which pieces can you attack?

●Tanks can attack infantry and tanks, but cannot attack artillery.
●Infantry can attack artillery and infantry, but cannot attack tanks.
●Artillery can attack tanks and artillery, but cannot attack infantry.

6. Obstacles

Lakes and forests… Infantry can pass through.

Headquarters and buildings … No pieces can pass through.

LAKE … Tank and artillery can not pass through.

8. Winning

Attacking headquarters does not constitute capture.
